DANIELA RUSOWSKY
Executive Director
Director and owner of Funk Productions, has specialised in creating documentaries and corporate social responsibility films; and has experience working for international media, with particular emphasis on environmental sciences and art.
BA in Social Communication and Master in Anthropology and Development from the University of Chile, since 1995 has extensively worked as an independent consultant for international companies, which include Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Compañía Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi.
She has also developed an academic career and worked as Coordinator of Communications and Social Research of the UK-funded Darwin’s Fox Project, at Nature Heritage.
In 2005, she moved to Puerto Rico, USA, where she joined the team of an international art journal, Art Premium. In 2007 she relocated to Jersey, where she founded Funk Productions. She is currently based in Germany.
Daniela is also a dedicated mother, loves cooking and outdoor activities and has travelled to almost 20 countries in 4 different continents. She speaks Spanish and English, and has a basic knowledge of French, Hebrew and German.
RUTH CARSWELL
General Producer
Ruth Carswell is a dynamic and versatile professional. After getting a BSc in Politics at Bristol University, she took the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law College, London and the Postgraduate Diploma in Law at the University of the West of England.
In 2008 she took a documentary course at the Jersey Arts Centre, she started doing some filming for the Jersey Red Cross. She recently directed – with the support of Funk Productions – a short film for the JSPCA Animal Shelter to encourage Islanders to re-home animals and continue supporting other filming projects.
Other interests include events organiser, Karate (Green Belt) and diving (PADI certificate). She speaks French fluently and has a basic understanding of Russian. She has been a resident in Jersey since February 2007 where she lives and works.
RENÉ VERÓN
Composer
Master in Music at Duquesne University, this talented composer has a long list of studies and certificates, as well as professional experience producing and coordinating audio books for companies such as McGraw Hill, Houghton Mifflin, BBC. His corporate reel includes clients like Glencoe, Rosa+Wesley, Benchmark, and Great Books Foundation, among others. His technical expertise plus his outstanding creativity and flexibility, allows him to create musical pieces specifically tailored for each project. René contributes significantly to our productions, giving a personal touch and a unique creative spirit. He is currentlty based in New York.
STEPHAN FUNK
Editor
Conservation biologist, ecologist and geneticists; this highly recognised scientist, has recently applied his computer skills and wildlife photography experience to learn professional editing. His dedication for detail and his passion for working in cultural and environmental issues, have revealed an extraordinary natural talent for editing and directing. Director of the Environmental Consultancy Nature Heritage, he shares his time to work with us and develop his new passion: documentary filmmaking.
